Not yet, but soon

Solids are recommended from around 6 months, and never before 4 months. Watch for the readiness signs to show up together: sitting upright with support, a steady head, picking up food and bringing it to their mouth, and swallowing food instead of pushing it back out.

Signs your baby is ready

Look for all of them together, usually around 6 months.

  • Sits upright with support, like in a high chair
  • Holds their head steady
  • Picks up food and brings it to their mouth
  • Swallows food instead of pushing it back out
